Hatsune Mi-Kooh

pangya japan tokito We've all heard about Hado Gay visiting the Pangya office in order to create a Hado Gay outfit for Max in Japan. In fact, several other famous individuals including Tokito in Japan have been lending their signature looks to various characters in Pangya.

But have you heard about Kooh's Hatsune Miku version?

hatsune miku outfit by pangya japan koohThere was apparently an event last year in Pangya Japan's Super Swing Golf. I have no idea whether this was for the Wii or the PC version, but heck... Kooh looks so cute dressed up as Hatsune Miku.

There were (or are?) even leek golf clubs to go with her entire outfit. Hatsune Miku has been associated with the leek song so it only makes sense to give Kooh leek clubs to complete her look, right?

The sad thing is, I doubt we'll ever get this in Pangya International, but I'm hoping it's in the PSP version, since there's a Hado Gay outfit for Max. I'm nearly at the end of the tournaments in PSP, but I'm a bit disappointed that not all the maps are available there. Even the new character, Lucia, is not in the PSP version.

On the brighter side, the BGM "Shiny Day" was remixed with Miku singing along in Wiz Wiz and West Wiz's courses. Here's a video of more screenshots of Kooh as Hitsune Miku. Enjoy!

Life is About Learning

lord of vampires - vampire knight kuran kaname fanart by kurohikoFor one of my new year's resolutions, I've decided to expand my creativity by drawing in different styles. I've always been comfortable drawing in anime styles; blog lines, cell shading, that kind of stuff.

I'm no expert at it, but it's something I'm comfortable with. My comfort zone if you may.

But there is one art style that I've always loved and admired and never got around doing. Realism.

Poor Kaname had to be my guinea pig. ;~;

But you know, I kinda like how this turned out. I hope no one figures out who I used as a model or else it would definitely show my noobness. T^T

I think I might want to try drawing a realistic Zero next... I want to try and create the 3 of them, including Yuki in realism, then put them all together as a VK poster. :3 I hope I don't get lazy and drop it since the manga's coming to an end.

Several other things I need to work on... Argh! Will definitely finish them all this year. At least, I'm going to try and plan to do all that.

Happy Chinese New Year!

tori avalon from a.illusionsA lot of nostalgia and deja vu came about this week's update, which thankfully came out on Chinese New Year's Eve.

I decided to make Tori's debut a full-colored page since he had been waiting for this for more than a year now (we all know there was a lot of drama with A.illusions' update, but let's not bore you with that).

I have to admit though, Tori looks a lot like Sean from Twilight's Calling. Their designs are pretty similar, but the personalities are very different. Sean is more of a thinker; quiet and reserved. Tori, as we all know, is more care-free. Though both of them have leadership qualities...

It really makes me miss working on Twilight's Calling a lot. I think I should draw some art from the series... I've been meaning to draw some band posters for them.

Anyhow, Tori will have a lot of explaining to do when th manga continues, that's for sure. xD I don't think Yukee-hime appreciates not being allowed into a forum being a former admin and all.

Speaking of deja vu, I've uploaded a video a took back in 2007... We were in Hong Kong and happen to pass by some lion dancers and martial artist performing. Too bad I didn't set the camera properly... the videos are all choppy and stuff, but if you're interested:

Happy Chinese New Year, all! :D

Vampire Knight DS

Vampire Knight's anime has finished, and the manga is about to end... now they have decided to let fans relive all of its beautiful memories in a dating sim game for the DS.

vampire knight ds chibi

You have to admit, the art looks gorgeous! I'm only disappointed that we'll probably never get an English version of this game, unless a fan decides to translate it and learns how to incorporate it into the game...

vampire knight ds character profile - kuran kaname

Kaname looks even better on the NDS than the anime. ;.; I want to play this so badly, but since it's a dating sim game, there's no point to it unless you can read and understand it.

It seems my dreams of dating Kaname will forever stay in my dreams.

"You need to take better care of yourself... Yuki..."

Or so I would imagine Kaname saying to Yuki~ x3

The game will be released in Japan on the 29th of January. More information can be found on the official site.

The Brave One

the brave one"How many wrongs to make it right?"

Sometimes, we ask ourselves the very same question. When there are those who wrong us, we want to take revenge to make things even.

But what if someone took away your fiancé and left you for dead? The only person in the world whom you could finally call "family" after you've lost all of your own?

What would you do?

Jodie Foster stared as Erica Bain, a radio show host and professional flâneur, someone who walks the streets in order to experience it. After she and her fiancé were attacked, however, she found hard to even step out of her apartment. She was so traumatized that she decided to buy a gun to keep herself safe, not even able to wait for a month to get a proper permit.

The conclusion is left to the judgment of the viewers. Some say that justice was served, while others say Erica is no more than a criminal vigilante, seeking to kill people and thus depriving them from their chance to repent and change their ways.

Jodie Foster played her role really well, and shows her talent as an actress. I like the film very much, even if it's against my beliefs that anyone has the right to take another person's life. I think it shows how the world is not always so black and white when it comes to good and evil; something we learn when we grow up and gain wisdom in life.

How would you handle a situation as devastating as Erica's?

Girl Talk and Crepes~

People who know me personally pretty much know that I hardly get out of the house. It's not like I don't want to, but my parents don't really allow me to have dinner with friends and such.

Yesterday evening however, was an exception.

cafe breton's le magnifique crepe

I got to meet up with 2 of my high school friends in Trinoma to play catch-up. :3 We went to Italiani's for some pasta first, and then over to Cafe Breton for some crepes. Le Magnifique was truly magnificent, by the way... Chocolate, hazelnut, and bananas really go well together. I'm so getting back to my diet when Monday comes~! xDDD

It was so much fun to talk about the past and the present, that my anxiety for the awkward silent moments was a thing of the past.

I was surprised that one of our batchmates and good friend was already married. She got married to a nice guy last year, in an outdoor wedding. There was so much news that we decided we had to meet another dinner or coffee with all the other people we still have contact with...

gundam seed's lacus clyneI never liked high school, but I enjoyed that dinner. ^_^

It was funny that we got talking about friendster too. One of the girls commented that I looked like my icon there, and she thought I drew her. Then I realized... I remember which icon I used a long time ago...

It was Lacus Clyne from Gundam Seed.

I always wanted to cosplay her, and maybe now I'll have the guts to finally do it. xD

Finally, in other news... I heard that my high school crush was attending church somewhere near... I would have thought he left the country already, but he's apparently still here! Meep~! x3

My friend told me he looks well, much better than he was in high school, so I'm more than willing to bet he's happy with someone already. My friend begs to differ though, and convinced me to get her to ask him how he's doing...

No harm in knowing right? I was pretty much still flustering like my high school self when we got talking about him... And I couldn't believe I was still crushing for the guy.

Ok, I'm so shutting up now. xDDD The evening was a blast, and I'm looking forward to the next one~!

When Evil Strikes...

a.illsions yukee evil grinI finally finished drawing a page in between pages, which felt a lot more challenging than continuing with the story at hand.

One of the things I learned is that you must not rush things. Let it roll, or in this case, flow in its own time...

Yukee-hime has ways of making Tori do things even if he doesn't want to. I remember the time I decided to send ghosts to his dormitory and he freaked out, so this page really brought back a lot of good memories.

Yes, Tori, they are out there... haunting you~ x3

In other news, I had been upset the entire week because of something I found out at work. I was expecting it to happen but not to that degree. Frankly, I don't know how to handle it, and it made me realize... a lot of the evil in this world may not be intentional.

The work place has certainly ceased to be fun. :(

Bram Stoker's Dracula

gary oldman as the young prince, count draculaIn 1462, Vlad III the Invader returns home to find his beloved wife, Elisabeta, dead. She took her own life when she had received false news of her husband's death. Because suicide is a sin, he would not meet his wife in heaven. This enraged Dracula and he renounced God, stating that he will rise from the grave to avenge Elisabeta with all the powers of darkness.

More than 400 years later, Count Dracula, now old but still very much alive, finds a photo of Mina Murray from his young law firm clerk, Jonathan Harker. He realizes that Mina is the reincarnation of Elisabeta and travels to Abbey to meet her. Mina feels a connection with this mysterious prince and begins to fall in love with him, despite her engagement to Jonathan.

Now this, is what I call a beautiful vampire movie. A tortured soul who could love only one person, driven by revenge... And yet, he loved her too much and could not find it in himself to turn her... at first.

It's a definite recommend, even if it is a 1992 film. I was surprised to find a familiar name, Abrahan Van Helsing, as one of the characters. And I had no idea that vampires needed to be stabbed in the heart and beheaded in order to be killed. I always thought it was an either/or thing.

Keanu Reeves looks like a dork though... a really cute dork. xD

Making Mr. Right

I've been watching a lot of movies on HBO lately, since I needed to concentrate on doing some real work... I know it's contradictory to have the TV on when you're trying to concentrate on work, but it's a formula that I've tested and tried and it still rings true.

My brother got me watching "Making Mr. Right" staring Dean Cain and Christina Cox. It's based on a true story about how Hallie took on a bet to make a hobo into one of the most eligible bachelors in town. Surprisingly enough, Eddie was not someone she thought he would be. Despite being homeless, Eddie was extremely intelligent and blended in with high society in less than a week.

It's a pretty good film, although I was annoyed at how the soundtrack was being reused and abused every 20 minutes or so. And I'm not a huge fan of romantic comedies, but it was nice to see Eddie regain himself and go back to school thanks to this experience.

dean cain as eddit in making mr. right
"At least when I gamble I play with money, not with people's lives."

I find it strange that there are very few reviews of this film though... I believe it's a remake, or something like it. There's even a book about it... Maybe I'm not looking in the right places.

Also, I can't get over the fact that the Dean Cain here isn't Superman from Lois and Clark. xD

I Think Tare Panda is Jealous

I got a belated Holiday Gift from Aiee, and he's my new mascot in the office!

food mascot stuff toy cellphone / mobile phone holder

Isn't he cute? I haven't given him a name yet, but I'm pretty sure he's a kind of food. Maybe made of bamboo even... I mean... see the PSP's reflection? See how my panda is staring at him from above?

It's like he's saying "Mmm... Food time." ._.;;;

Yes, I had to prop my PSP on my Starbucks Organizer to prove my point. xDDD *SHOT*

Kidding aside though, thanks Aiee! I love him very much. :3 He's so cute!!!

Also, new blog, again. xDDD

Starting the New Year Right

I wanted to post something nice to start off the new year... There's actually something a little more serious that I wanted to write about, but first, I'll start with something light~

chibi kooh and dolphini sketch on my starbucks organizer

Here is my first sketch of the new year on my Starbucks Organizer... Chibi Kooh and Chibi Dolphini as seen on Pangya Portable. You can see the original of this in the game's music and art collection. :3

And to tackle the new year, instead of resolutions, I have a new meme which I shamelessly stolen from Lei-Lei~ *3*

Rule: Remove one (1) question from below, and add in your personal question, make it a total of 20 questions, then tag eight (8) people on your list. List them out at the end of this post.

1. If given a chance to change something in the past, what will it be and why?
I'd very much like to erase my one failure in college so that I would be an honor student in college. The only reason I want to do this is because I want my Dad to "show me off" the way he does my other sisters. shallow, ain't it? ._.;;;

2. What color do you like most?
Purple. :3 In fact... I need to change my blog theme to purple! :D

3. What is your current addiction?
Playing Pangya, drawing, and tinkering with XML, CSS, and HTML codes.

4. Where would you like to go to the most?
Somewhere far, far away from everyone else..? ;p

5. What subject do you hate the most?
History. I like reading about it, but I don't like memorizing names and important dates. Kinda shows why I forget everyone's birthdays, ne? o.o

6. When you encounter a sad moment, what do you do?
I draw sad pictures... it's a nice way to show my emotions without actually showing them. ^_^

7. Do you like masquerade balls?
If it involves cosplays then yes... But usually just to take pictures and not actually take part in it unless there's a bishie in the room *SHOT* xD.

8. What do you love the most about last year (2007 2008)?
Meeting my little nephew for the first time. :3

9. List out 3 good points of the person who tagged you:
Lei-Lei:
* always pestering me about random stuff to keep my mind off of stress.
* encourages me to finish A.illusions.
* kicks me to do the right thing when I'm being hesitant about it. :3
Thanks, Lei...

10. How do you cope with boredom?
I play Pangya on PSP, Plurk, and draw random stuff on just about anything.

11. What is one thing you’ll never get tired of?
Drawing... No matter how sick, wrong, and ugly one artwork comes out, I can't say I really truly hate it.

12. If you’re not doing this meme, what should you be doing at this moment?
Working on some paperwork and some odd jobs that are due next week. -.-

13. If you have one wish, what would you wish for?
I'd wish everyone would stop pretending to like a person when they really don't and settle differences so that they can start to truly get along. (This goes for my family actually.)

14. How did you celebrate new year?
I was at my grandma's house, trying to calm myself from the caffeine overload I had earlier that day. xD Then we went to Uncle's Shop to see some of his new toys on display. :3 Oh, I cooked angel hair pasta too. \o/

15. What’s your worst attitude?
Not fighting for what I believe in.

16. If you were to get stuck inside a movie, which movie will it be?
The Matrix. 'Nuf said.

17. What do you look forward to in 2008 2009?
I'm looking forward to great changes in my life, no matter how scared I am, I will go through with it, because I don't want to have regrets.

18. If you were to do one bad thing and get away with it, what would it be?
Get rid of a very insignificant pest in the office who hardly does any work at all and places the blame on everyone else.

19. What’s your worst nightmare?
To one day find myself unable to draw... whether it be blindness or decapitation... I would probably find it hard to live on.

20. If you were a thing, what would you be?
A little doll wearing a Victorian styled dress with a little wing up mechanism in the back that allows the doll to play a music box type of music to the tune of "It's a Small World After All". :3 The kind that sways while the music is playing.

And now I tag... My Office Peeps~!
Abby, Art, Bong, Gino, Jaz, Mike, Shiji, Tiffy

Happy New Year~ ;p
