My Very First Commission

Even though I’ve worked for Mango Jam as Twilight Calling’s continuing artist, I never really felt my artwork was something worth paying for. Maybe it’s because they hired me as a continuing artist and not as the original artist, but that’s beside the point…

I’ve opened commissions some time ago, and didn’t really think anyone was going to commission me… until recently.

Adiv and Altair (Alaistair) are characters created by ~Stine22 aka =Kilo112205. I have to say, I never thought working on commissions would be so enjoyable. I’m a little worried that this may not be what she had in mind, but I did my best! And I sent a thumbnail sketch before I started working on the actual artwork.

I think I like the blood stained moon on this piece the most. The wings were painful to detail, and drawing embers is pretty much a first for me.

My sister mentioned that “one is crying, and the other is salivating” in her usual innocent way. >.>;;; She also kept pestering me why the wings are brown when angels have white wings. THIS WORRIES ME EVEN MORE! *headslap*

I just hope my client doesn’t see this piece the same way she does. ;x; I might… cry in the corner or hide under a rock… forever.

- I reserve the right to post commissions on my websites.
- Sketching will begin only after the commission has been paid either in 50% down payment of preferably paid in full (PAYPAL ONLY).
- Please give at least 15 days before issuing a follow-up.
- Corrections will only be entertained during sketching stage.
- The final artwork in its highest resolution will be emailed to the commissioner in JPEG format (unless requested otherwise).
- No hentai, yaoi, or yuri.
- Allowing the artist a bit of leeway for the poses is preferred.

Do you think I improved?

I honestly don’t see a lot of changes, haha! That is very bad. No progress means I’m not developing my skills at all. Oh la la~ I should explore more this year!

Hopefully 2010 will be a lot better~

It's Good to be Alive

There are some days when you get to feel like everything is going your way...

I found that watching one episode of Onegai My Melody before going to bed keeps in a good mood the following day. I'll see how long it lasts since I only have 35 episodes, and I'm already at episode 20. xD

Sorry for those who can't understand Japanese, and sorry for those who can understand Japanese since my Japanese is horrible. xDDD

Of course, at the bottom of the said conversation we have some Tagalog and... some invented language here in this country. xD If anyone did understand what it was we were talking about, you'd guess it's pretty shallow, but since I'm in my happy mood, simple things are also quite funny to me. x3

I've actually been working on a fanart for Nyanko-Chan's RE: Play Contest. I picked up a copy of her manga some time ago, and it reminded me a lot of my own project, Twilight's Calling. Cree adnd Twi would probably get along very well if they met. xD

Anyhow, I have only until tonight to finish my entry..! I'll do my best to finish it and then get back to A.illusions again. >.<;;;

...or maybe not?

I'm contemplating with doing a short doujin to take a break from A.illusions. Not that I'm tired of drawing A.illusions, but I've wanted to try and make a doujin since... forever. :D

If I draw a short one consisting of only 20-30 pages, it might not be so bad/long of a break, right?

I haven't fully decided yet, but we'll see. There are 2 pages left before Act 2 changes stages, so it would give me ample time to think about it.

In other news, I'm beginning to become more active in Facebook thanks to a new game. I'll take the time to write about it another time when my interface looks more presentable. :3

Happy Chinese New Year!

A lot of nostalgia and deja vu came about this week's update, which thankfully came out on Chinese New Year's Eve.

I decided to make Tori's debut a full-colored page since he had been waiting for this for more than a year now (we all know there was a lot of drama with A.illusions' update, but let's not bore you with that).

I have to admit though, Tori looks a lot like Sean from Twilight's Calling. Their designs are pretty similar, but the personalities are very different. Sean is more of a thinker; quiet and reserved. Tori, as we all know, is more care-free. Though both of them have leadership qualities...

It really makes me miss working on Twilight's Calling a lot. I think I should draw some art from the series... I've been meaning to draw some band posters for them.

Anyhow, Tori will have a lot of explaining to do when th manga continues, that's for sure. xD I don't think Yukee-hime appreciates not being allowed into a forum being a former admin and all.

Speaking of deja vu, I've uploaded a video a took back in 2007... We were in Hong Kong and happen to pass by some lion dancers and martial artist performing. Too bad I didn't set the camera properly... the videos are all choppy and stuff, but if you're interested:

A.illusions: Back Online and Updated!

It's been a long time since I last touched my online manga... Huge burnout for the most part, really. After actually working on a "real" manga, Mango Jam: Twilight's Calling, chasing after deadlines didn't make drawing manga look all that fun anymore.

But I can't run from myself, really... I love drawing, and no matter what happens, I'll probably continue drawing for the rest of my life.

Anyway, I finally got the layout to look right..! But I may change the colors of the text a little bit later on. I'm fickle that way.

Now to get myself to get ready for work. I'm beginning to love this jet lag. Sleeping early and waking up early in the morning is quite refreshing, and I never knew this before! But then again... That doesn't change the fact that there's a lot of work to do today. ._.;;; bleh~

I wonder if anyone else from Anime Illusions has a blogspot? Hmn... I need to make a new forum for that too...
